I had a tutorial for my EMP today.

These were the brainstorms that I’ve been working on to figure out my learning agreement and what I want to explore in this unit.

The top image are things that I’m passionate about, interests that I can talk about for hours and get excited by.

Major ideas from this brainstorm were used to create the second, more concise brainstorm where I found the overall topic of history became a focal point.

I adore history- from the oral stories of myth to the changes in our societies today and even science-fiction alternative time paths.

I’m also interested in eye-witness accounts and personal stories of larger historical events (such as the Suffragist/Suffragette movement and the world wars) such as the books created by the Imperial War Museum; ‘Forgotten Voices…’ which are transcribed from interviews with survivors from both World Wars.

My tutors suggested I take this further by taking an event that isn’t as well known as those that I had put forward and finding individual’s personal insights and documents from that time to base my project upon. This can bring a historical event to ‘life’ rather than a passing in time.
